StartUp - The Founder of a New Business - Competition
The German Founder Award is a project of the StartUp-Initiative. A StartUp-Initiative of stern (The German Magazine), the Sparkassen (Savings Banks), McKinsey&Company and ZDF (German TV-broadcasting company) is the largest national initiative incentive of founder and entrepreneurships in Germany. It is comprised of three components; the StartUp-Workshop, StartUp-Competition and the German Founder Award. StartUp is supported by the State Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. The initiative is patronized by Hartmut Mehdorn (Die Bahn) and Bernd Kundrun (Gruner & Jahr). In the Founder of a New Business – Competition “StartUp 2001” BlueBioTech made 2 nd place in Schleswig-Holstein.

Schmidt-Römhild Technology Award
In November 2001, BlueBioTech was awarded the “Schmidt-Römhild Technology Award” which was endowed with DEM 10.000,00. This commendation for excellent performance in the development and realization of economically valuable and future-oriented technologies and techniques has been awarded for the past 14 years.

"Founder Champion 2004"
During the “German Founder- and Entrepreneur Days” in April 2004, BlueBioTech was awarded the title “Founder Champion 2004” Since 1999, the Federal States of Berlin and Brandenburg honor an “excellent founder personality” from each Federal State. Federal Chancellor, Mr. Gerhard Schröder, is the patron. BlueBioTech receives the title, “because here, scientific competences impressively meet business administrative ambition”. “This enabled us to invest substantial funds in projects of research and development,” says Hartig.
